If you want to move to the UK (London) for university, here’s a simple breakdown 👇
→ Get admission
Apply to a UK university here: ucas.com/explore/search…
Once accepted, you’ll receive a CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies).
P.S.: You can also look for scholarships to reduce costs here: thescholarshiphub.org.uk
→ Money estimates
– Tuition: £10K–£25K/year (depends on school/course)
– Living in London as a student: ~£1,334/month
– You must show you can afford this before getting the visa
→ Apply for a Student Visa
Use your CAS to apply here: https://www.gov.uk/student-visa/apply-online
You’ll need:
– A valid passport
– Proof of funds (tuition + living costs). Funds must be held for at least 28 consecutive days, with the balance checked within 31 days of your application.
– A valid ATAS certificate (if required for your course and nationality)
Proof of parental or guardian consent (if you’re under 18)
– Proof of your relationship to your parent/guardian (if under 18)
– Tuberculosis test results
– Written consent from your financial sponsor (if applicable within the last 12 months)
→ While studying
You can work up to 20 hours per week during term time and full-time during holidays.
→ After graduation
You can stay in the UK for 2 years with the Graduate Visa, work, and try to switch to a full work visa.
In a nutshell:
→ Get admission → Get CAS → Apply for visa → Move → Study → Work → Stay
